The 4th International Conference of the School of Pharmacy and the 2nd Conference of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy at Jordanian Universities

Researcher from HMCSR attended the “The 4th International Conference of the School of Pharmacy and the 2nd Conference of the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy at Jordanian Universities” that was held in at the University of Jordan from 25th to 27th of Oct. 2016.

This conference was under the theme "Excellence in Pharmacy Education & Research: A Quality Approach". Held under the patronage of the University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, the 3-day conference discussed 43 papers on the latest advances in pharmacy education and research.

 

In his opening speech, Prof. Mahafzah stressed the importance of having successful and strong collaborative relationship between academia and industry.

 

Mahafzah said that faculties of pharmacy in Jordan play vital role in the development of highly skilled human resources that are capable of utilizing scientific achievements in healthcare technology for the benefit of both patient and pharmaceutical industry.

 

Prof. Abla Albsoul, the School's Dean, President of the Conference, said the meeting is an opportunity to identify partners for collaboration and give participants the chance to learn from one another.

 

 

"I am sure that the conference will come up with concrete recommendations and outputs that will serve our interests in the fields of the pharmacy education and research," Albsoul added.

 

Co-president of the Conference Prof. Rula Darwish said the conference brings together prominent speakers from different parts of the world, and will include a number of specialized, hands-on workshops.

 

The 43-presentations shaded the light on the latest trends in research and practice in pharmacy as a science and professional practice, According to Darwish.

 

The opening session included a presentation by Prof. Atta-ur-rahman from the University of Karachi, Pakistan.
