The 3rd Scientific Day for HMCSR And Ali Mango Award for distinguished Researchers for the year 2012 Cermony

The Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research held a ceremony to hand over Ali Mango Award for Distinguished Researchers for the year 2012, in the presence of UJ President, Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh.

The Award, donated by Mr. Hassan Mango, is granted by the Centre for the third year in recognition of scientific research, and to encourage researchers in various Jordanian universities to contribute to scientific research and motivate them to increase their activities and encourage them to continue to excel.

The Director of the Center, Dr. Abeer Al Bawab said this year’s Award went beyond the walls of the University of Jordan and attracted researchers from various universities, also she added that value of the prize increased to become 13000 Jordanian Dinars per year and expanded to include postgraduate students.

Al Bawab, in her speech at the ceremony, which came within the 3rd Scientific Day of the Center, referred to the emergence of the center and its role in support of scientific research for researchers and postgraduate students, noting that 29 scientific projects were supported resulting in 80 publications.

As for the award winners, the Scientific Category’s award went to Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Al Nemmer from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Science and Technology and Dr. Mohamed Awad Mohamed Shatanawi from the Faculty of Agriculture in Al Balqa Applied University.

The Medical Category’s award went equally to Dr. Said Ibrahim Ismail from the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Ayman Mohammed Hamdan Mansour from the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Jordan.

With respect to the Graduate Studies Award; it was equally granted to each of Mannar Mohammed Rabbaa (Master’s / Agriculture) and Dr. Louay Isa tawalbeh (PhD /Nursing) from the University of Jordan.

Tarawneh handed over the awards to the winners and congratulated them for their scientific breakthrough, urging them to continue in the way of success and excellence.

Its worth mentioning that the 3rd Scientific Day was attended by UJ Vice-Presidents, Mango family and a number of faculty members and students.

The Scientific Day comprised the display of posters on scientific research fields and lectures identifying scientific research conducted within the Centre.
