Participation of the Center for Women's Studies at the University of Jordan with the Armed Forces Ladies Club / Arab Army in the Workshop on "Voluntary Feminist Social Work"

The Center for Women's Studies at the University of Jordan participated in a workshop titled "Voluntary Feminist Social Work", organized by the Armed Forces Ladies Club – Arab Army, under the patronage of Mrs. Feryal Solh Al-Hunayti, spouse of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The workshop was attended by Colonel Dr. Manal Abu alGhanam, Director of the Military Women's Affairs Directorate.

The event also welcomed the participation of several female officers and non-commissioned officers from various branches of the armed forces, as well as spouses of senior officers who are members of the club.

Hosted at the Military Women's Training Center, the workshop explored the dimensions of social work from a feminist volunteer perspective, focusing on the role of women in promoting values of belonging and citizenship through community initiatives.

Speakers at the workshop included Professor Dr. Amal Al-Awadah, Director of the Center for Women's Studies at the University of Jordan; retired Lieutenant Colonel and academic Dr. Nuha Raymon; and Dr. Rima Al-Shahwan. They offered comprehensive insights that bridged academic knowledge, practical experience, and field engagement.

The workshop concluded with a ceremony honoring the participants, reaffirming that feminist social work is a foundational pillar in building a cohesive society that values human dignity.
