By Mustafa Al-Momani — The Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Jordan, under the patronage of the Center’s Director, Professor Dr. Amal Al-Awawdah, has launched the “Feminist Fellowship” project — a strategic initiative aimed at empowering and strengthening the role of the Center’s female students and graduates in society by developing their professional and leadership skills and enabling them to excel in various fields.
In her welcoming remarks, Professor Dr. Amal Al-Awawdah expressed her appreciation for the attendees, who represented various national institutions. She praised the active partnership between these institutions, the Center for Women’s Studies, and the University of Jordan in supporting community development efforts, achieving gender equality, and preparing students to enter the labor market.
For her part, the Director of the project “Enhancing Women’s Political and Economic Participation in Jordan,” which is implemented by the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), spoke about the importance of integrating female students into the labor market to gain practical training and experience that will prepare them for employment after graduation.
This project aims to train students within women-focused institutions, develop their capabilities, and help them acquire the skills necessary to enhance their employment opportunities and participation in community activities. The project includes providing professional training and educational opportunities through workshops and training programs, as well as creating a network of connections between participants and relevant institutions to facilitate cultural and knowledge exchange.
