The Center for Women’s Studies at the University of Jordan held its first advisory board meeting for the 2024/2025 academic year, with the participation of a distinguished group of experts, students, graduates, and representatives of national and international institutions concerned with women’s issues and human rights.
The Center’s Director, Dr. Amal Al-Awawdah, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, highlighting the vital role that advisory boards play in bridging the gap between academic education and labor market needs. She stressed the importance of leveraging professional expertise to develop the Center’s academic programs and curricula.
Dr. Al-Awawdah also presented an overview of the Center’s most significant achievements in academic, research, and community service fields, noting the Center’s participation in a number of outstanding programs and projects — most notably, the professional qualification programs for students and graduates, and the Feminist Fellowship Program for the Center’s students.
For their part, the board members expressed their gratitude to the Center’s administration and the university for their trust and commended the Center’s outstanding efforts, both locally and internationally, in supporting women’s issues and empowering women.
The meeting concluded with members’ comments and suggestions on the Women’s Studies Master’s Program plan, focusing on ways to strengthen the integration of students and graduates into the labor market and further develop their academic and practical skills.
