The University of Jordan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (UJIEC)
The University of Jordan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (UJIEC ) was established by decree from the University of Jordan Board of Trustees in 2015 with a vision to be a one-stop support hub for innovators and entrepreneurs at the University of Jordan as well as the local community in collaboration and partnership with all stakeholder in the both public and private sector, and a mission to promote and foster innovation and entrepreneurship culture, education, training, and practice to create a generation capable of making a real contribution to the economic development in Jordan.
The UJIEC consists of four administrative sections namely; Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Section, Business Incubators, Financing, and Investment Section, Cooperation and Public Relations Section, Studies, Planning, and Training Section. The UJIEC team consists of 6 full-time employees along with 20 part-time volunteers and is located in the heart of the University of Jordan Campus.
Accordingly, UJIEC provides an array of services including awareness and education; professional training and capacity building programs; pre-incubation support services from ideation and design thinking, business plan development, legal and patent registration support services, market validation, valuation, and research planning.
The center also provides mentorship services and networking services where innovators and entrepreneurs are provided access to investors, competitions, and exhibitions. Moreover, the center provides prototype development pre-seed funding, co-working, and collaboration spaces, and lastly, UJIEC helps in patent registration and commercialization services.
UJIEC is demand and supply driven, it provides full pipeline services from ideation, evaluation, proof of concept and market analysis, business plan development, and review and implementation, all while constantly providing the support services mentioned above including training, networking, and pre-seed funding.
