The Language Center at the University of Jordan (UJ) on Thursday organized a cultural event titled “Traditional Dish," organized by the Arabic for Speakers of Other Languages (ASOL) Section, with broad participation from students, as well as academic and administrative staff.
The event was opened by Vice President for Humanities Faculties Prof. Nahed Amaish and Language Center Director Prof. Ismail Al-Mazaidah, as part of the Center's cultural program aimed at encouraging exchange among Arabic learners from different nationalities and deepening the connection between language learning and Arab culture.
Students presented a selection of traditional Arab dishes, each introduced through a brief note on its cultural background and social context. The segment encouraged conversation among participants and linked classroom learning with lived cultural experience.
Organizers said such activities help foster an interactive, supportive learning environment, enabling students to develop language skills alongside cultural awareness. They added that the ASOL Section will continue to offer initiatives that enrich learners' experience and promote intercultural communication. The event concluded with positive feedback from students and attendees.
