UJ Scholars Win at the 7th Annual International Arab Workshop on Biotechnology
UJ Scholars, Prof. Ayed Al-Abdallat and Eng. Tamara Al-Qudah has participated and won at the 7th Annual International Arab Workshop on Biotechnology, titled “Plant biotechnology and Biodiversity”.
 
Al-Abdallt and Al-Qudah respectively won the best research, and best poster awards at the event which is organized annually by the Arab Biotechnology Association “Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils”, National Center for Research and Development, and Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
 
Al-Abdallt is a professor of Plant Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Agriculture, while Al-Qudah is researcher at Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research (HMCSR) .
 
The main topics of the workshop were concentrated on plant diversity, conservation and genetic characterization, molecular plant breeding, plant tissue culture and plant transformation.
 
Participants were from various Arab countries including Sudan, Egypt, Tunisia and Kuwait, in addition to Jordan.
 
Also attended the workshop, Prof. Khalid El-Shuraideh, President of the National Center for Research and Development, Jordan; Secretary General of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Council, Sudan, Prof. Mubarak Al Magzoub; and Prof. Mahmoud Saker, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt.
